Christie was born in Las Cruces, NM. Her parents moved to Oklahoma when she was two years old. Christie grew up outside of Tulsa, Oklahoma in the small town of Owasso. In her younger years, Christie’s passion for children was always apparent, from volunteering at church in the children’s ministries to being the neighborhood babysitter. Additionally, she was the nanny to her cousins when she was as young as 12 years old.
Christie attended the University of Tulsa where her father also graduated. She enjoyed the challenging curriculum and made many lifelong friends. Christie received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Tulsa as well as a Minor in Early Childhood Intervention (focusing on ages 0-3 years). She then moved to the Dallas area and attended Texas Woman’s University (TWU) where she received her Master of Science degree while completing the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program. Christie then continued and achieved her Doctorate of Nursing Practice at University of Massachusetts Boston.
Christie is a Board Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner by the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB).Christie worked at Medical City Dallas as a charge nurse on the pediatric unit, learning many skills that would serve her well in her future in healthcare.
Christie worked closely with Dr. Lauren Feder in 2008, a well-known homeopathic physician in Los Angeles. She has also worked with a few integrative, holistic pediatricians for many years as part of Shine Pediatrics and Healthy Kids Pediatrics. Christie helped create and develop Shine Pediatrics with Dr. Randy Naidoo for 6 years before starting Natural Choice Pediatrics. Christie's experience includes general pediatrics and pediatric wellness, pediatric holistic and alternative healthcare, as well as allergy/immunology, pulmonology, gastrointestinal and dermatology (skin, eczema, asthma, gut/GI Issues). Christie's years of education and experience add a new dimension to the Natural Choice Pediatrics team.
Christie was married in September 2011 to her husband, Bruce, and they live in Frisco, Texas. She has one beautiful daughter and three amazing step-children. Her parents, sister and family live close by as well, where she frequently visits her three cutie-pie nephews. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, playing games, baking, watching movies, reading, listening to true crime podcasts, hanging out with friends, visiting with her family, trying new restaurants, and attending sporting events, especially Dallas Cowboys games. She and her family attend Hope Fellowship Church in Frisco.
