Dr. Brooke Barr, Doctor of Nursing Practice-Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, was born and raised in rural East Texas. She moved to Dallas and married her high school sweetheart, Garrett. After four years of marriage, Brooke and Garrett welcomed their first son, Paxton, and 20 months later welcomed their second son, Wells, into the world. Being a mother has made her even more empathetic, encouraging, and loving with her patient families and their precious littles. She has a love for Tex Mex, her Boxer dog, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends!
Dr. Barr, DNP, has an AS from Dallas Baptist University, a Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree from Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing, a Masters of Science in Nursing degree and a Doctor of Nursing Practice from the Medical University of South Carolina. Her passion grew in the neonatal intensive care unit where her desire to serve the pediatric population blossomed. Dr. Barr, DNP, also teaches as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Baylor University School of Nursing and Texas Woman's University in Dallas where she helps educate future nurses and nurse practitioners.
She is an ambitious pediatric provider, specializing in the care and treatment of newborns, infants, toddlers, adolescents, and young adults. She provides quality and holistic health care to patients including examining, diagnosing, prescribing, interpreting diagnostic studies, screening, and managing chronic illnesses in youths. Her passion, however, is educating patients and their families regarding healthy lifestyle choices as well as optimal traditional and holistic treatment remedies for their child and family.
